10. In a life or death situation, do something. It may be wrong, but do something.

11. Some people say if you carry a gun you must be paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, you have nothing to be paranoid about.

12. You can say ‘stop’ or ‘alto’ or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone’s head is pretty much a universal language.

13. You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.

In a post at wired.com’s Danger Room, Noah Shachtman reports that America’s fleet of Predator and Reaper drones has become infected with a virus that apparently logs each and every operator keystroke.

“The virus, first detected nearly two weeks ago by the military’s Host-Based Security System, has not prevented pilots at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada from flying their missions overseas. Nor have there been any confirmed incidents of classified information being lost or sent to an outside source. But the virus has resisted multiple efforts to remove it from Creech’s computers, network security specialists say. And the infection underscores the ongoing security risks in what has become the U.S. military’s most important weapons system.”

“’We keep wiping it off, and it keeps coming back,’ says a source familiar with the network infection, one of three that told Danger Room about the virus. ‘We think it’s benign. But we just don’t know.’”

Update: Now evidence is surfacing that the Department of Justice may have been tampering with witnesses.

“[T]he DOJ was either trying to make sure witness stories are consistent with DOJ talking points, or they were going through the back door to make sure everyone who was testifying was on the same page. Either would likely get the average citizen slapped with an obstruction or witness tampering charge in a state or federal court.”

Apparently the people at the DOJ consider themselves above the law.

You’ll need a tool, such as this cable sheath knife, or a thin flat screwdriver. Incidentally, I number my magazines to aid me in keeping track of any that give me trouble. 

First, insert the blade between the body of the magazine and the plastic magazine bottom.

Pry down and out.

Rock the blade forward to disengage the tab in the magazine bottom from the slot in the magazine body.

Tip the bottom off the magazine. Notice the retention slot on the magazine. There’s one on the other side, too.

Release the spring tension carefully. Note the orientation of all the components, since they will need to be reassembled in the same way.

It’s a very simple magazine, consisting of the body, follower, spring and bottom.

After cleaning and maintenance, reassemble, then replace the bottom by rocking it back into place.

Reassembly complete.

In 2001 President George W. Bush vowed to hunt down Osama bin Ladin and bring him to justice, no matter how long and no matter what it took. As I remember, the Wild West theme “Wanted, Dead or Alive” was a prominent headline in the media. For years afterwards libtards whined relentlessly about our President and his “Cowboy diplomacy.” Prominent among the whiners: one Barack Hussein Obama. In 2008 Obama campaigned incessantly about how he would close the detention center at Gitmo, end the war in Iraq, and transform our nation into a place where peace could find a home and the world would love us once again. But the dictates of reality force President Obama to keep Gitmo open and to adopt many of his predecessor’s policies in regard to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. When the mission to take down bin Ladin was launched, they were not ordered to capture him if they could. They wanted him dead, period.

When Obama received his party’s nomination for the presidency, his wife said for the first time in her adult life she was proud to be an American. When I listened to President Obama’s announcement last night, I thought to myself “Wow, for the first time in my adult life, I’m pround of President Obama.” I know I’m not the first to say it, but that’s what I thought.

Also, among the many comments I’ve seen on various blogs celebrating OBL’s demise, this: “There’s nothing as peaceful as a dead troublemaker.” As they say, Heh.
